The route for the 2013 California 1000 consisted of starting in Hollywood, CA and going to Monterey, San Luis Obispo, and back to Hollywood to end the rally. With that being said, it is very important to choose the correct vehicle for this lengthy road trip. You will need a car that is comfortable to drive for 3 days and 1000 miles, but still be fast and have good handling for the curvy roads. We knew exactly what we needed to do and what car to bring for this years California 1000… The Projekt Grip 09 Porsche Turbo.
We felt that this was the best tool for this this lengthy road trip. This 997.1 Turbo has a long list of BBI performance products installed in on it, which offers high levels of performance. Some of the most notable upgrades include:
- BBI 997 Carbon Fiber Wide Body Package
- BBI B800 Power Package
- BBI 997 Street Cup Package 4
- Motegi Techno Mesh Wheels
This special Porsche 997.1 Turbo makes 800hp at the crank with the much improved suspension geometry and wider stance. This car is an absolute animal, which devoured the mountain roads without any hesitation. Team BBI did exceptionally well for all 3 days while getting an average 22mpg! The roads and checkpoints were absolutely amazing places that one would never normally travel to. The rally came to an end with some very exciting results. Team BBI placed 2nd Overall for the entire rally behind a long time customer driving a BBI Cayman who came in 1st overall!
